Wind the packing around the pipe with the same diameter of the axis. Tightly but not stretched, and cut off the remains.
Attention: Do not measure the length by winding around the stuffing box. Cut off the first gasket ring; make sure it fits the stuff box. Cut off the first gasket ring, make sure it fits the stuff box, and there is no gap left on the joint.
Process other gasket rings in the same way. If you work on the plane board, you should cut the section inclined, in order to compensate the possible distortion later.
If the material of gasket is soft and easy to abrase, you can wind the adhesive tape around the cut, before you start your work. Whether to take it off depends on the shape of the joint.
Only install one gasket ring each time, and make sure there are no stains or chipping left. You can use light oil to lubricate the ring and the axis before the installation.
Leaving a 90 degree angle on the joint, and press the ring tightly with the appropriate tools. Fix the cover and press the ring tightly after you finish fixing the last gasket ring.
Screw the cover tightly after you fix the gasket ring. Make certain leaking possible during the startup to avoid overheat, the screw the nut one by one equally, and make sure the leaking rate meets the standard.
Water sealing ring: using the water sealing ring is a better choice. You can inject the oil into the stuffing boxing through it to lubricate the axis and the gasket ring. Make sure the position of the water sealing ring and the injection hole are in the same line.
